Mariette Maartens Painting

“Art is collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.” – Andre Gide

Mariette Maartens het so onlangs soos Julie 2013 begin skilder.

Haar gunsteling medium in skilderkuns is olie. Sy werk graag op kommissie.

In July 2013, Mariette Maartens picked up the artist’s brush for the very first time. During the 1980’s she ventured into pirography, and did portraits with a soldering iron on wood. However, she never pursued this type of art. As art lover, it always amazed her how the masters so easely succeeded in creating atmosphere with their more than competent techniques. Her style reflects her passion for-, and her relationship with nature and her environment.

Her newly found talent is a God given talent. With no formal tutoring in painting, she has never considered venturing into this area. After 32 years of dedicated service to the community and individuals, she had a business for 7 years. After selling in 2011, she moved to the West Coast where she lives in Dwarskersbos. She started a self-catering unit, Jubel ‘n Juig and she loves sharing tranquillity and the soothing atmosphere with others.

She is still involved in the community, enjoys painting and also writes occasionally. Her preferred medium in art is oil. She enjoys working on commission.
